A-S-K ITG is a division of A-S-K Associates, a Certified Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB), a Certified WBE in the States of Kansas and Missouri and by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
A-S-K has two major divisions: Information Technology Group (ITG) and Conference Management Group (CMG). Both divisions embrace the Company's mission to provide effective solutions for our clients' business needs while maintaining the flexibility to respond to new priorities as their needs develop and change.
A-S-K Associates, Inc. was founded in 1979 by Kenneth A. Martinez. EdD and Sheila A. Martinez, Ed to undertake challenging engagements and provide solutions to meet the needs of our clients and customers. A-S-K is a graduate of the SBA (8) Program and was a SBA Certified Disadvantaged Business as well as a Certified Minority Business Enterprise by the State of Missouri and the Minority Supplier Council before becoming a woman-owned business in 2014.
Throughout its history, the company has been headquartered in Lawrence, Kansas. The company and staff have received numerous awards and recognition for exemplary service.
The Information Technology Group began with a contract for the US Coast Guard, and using our SBA 8(a) minority-owned/disadvantaged status, won contracts with the US Departments of Commerce and Agriculture for software development, training and technical support services.
Federal contracting continued with the addition of FAA Central Region to provide computer operation support and to operate a Regional Mobile Training Center. Private sector customers included United Missouri Bank and University of Kansas Medical Center. An online interactive system for Kansas Rehabilitation Services was designed and implemented for the State of Kansas.
A-S-K ITG won an SBIR grant to develop and test a Case Management System. The CMS template was applied in case management systems for the State of Kansas as well as other states. We became a small business partner with EDS and provided a wide variety of services and staff to the US Department of Agriculture for the Processed Commodities Inventory Management System, the Cotton Management System and Information Technology Support Services 1 & 2 (USDA/FSA).
Integrated technical services, quality assurance and various support services were provided to the Departments of Transportation, Revenue, Administration and Labor for the State of Kansas as the new decade began. Software instruction continued to be provided for military personnel at Fort Carson, CO. A-S-K ITG continued to team with EDS.
IT outsourcing became a strong niche, and ITG provided a full range of support resources that allowed customers to focus on their core business. A-S-K ITG became a teaming partner with SAIC to provide integration services in support of the USDA/Risk Management Agency. A-S-K ITG staff members were tasked with application development and enhancement, software and database support and help desk and computer operations.
A-S-K ITG continued to work with SAIC and USDA as well as State of Kansas customers. Our staff augmentation services provided clients and teaming partners with hard to find skilled IT personnel who worked under client direction to develop, maintain, manage and support business objectives and project goals.
The State of Kansas remained a long-term ITG customer. Several not-for-profit organizations became clients, and A-S-K ITG began projects with new commercial customers. A-S-K Associates was awarded Kansas Woman-Owned Business of the Year 2016 for Professional Services by the Kansas Department of Commerce.
A-S-K ITG completed a website development project for the Kansas Corporation Commission. We continued to provide technical support for the CSIMS application for the Kansas Division of Conservation/Agriculture as well as System Architect Services for the Kansas Department of Health & Environment's Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS). Kansas Woman-Owned Business of the Year 2018 for Professional Services was again awarded to A-S-K Associates by the Kansas Department of Commerce/Office of Minority & Women Business Development.
